    In July each year I revel in thoughts about the early days of this nation and the literally revolutionary ideas that coalesced to launch it. I always want Independence Day to be about so much more than barbecue and fireworks.

    That 1770s era confluence of remarkable, thoughtful, and courageous people the Founders was primed to change the course of world history, given their untenable circumstance at the whim of the British. But in my view, there was one more indispensable ingredient in their irresistible, revolutionary stew.
