    TWO VICTIMS IN OVERNIGHT SHOOTINGS

    (9/19/2007) NEW HAVEN- At approximately 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, New Haven Police officers responded to the area of Liberty and Carlisle Streets on a report of a shooting. At the scene, officers located 17-year-old Freddie Rodriguez, of New Haven who experienced a single gun shot wound to the foot. According to the victim, he was shot during an apparent robbery attempt by two unknown Hispanic males.

    Later that evening, at approximately 8:54 p.m., officers responded to the area of Elm and Orchard Streets on a report of a person being shot. On Elm Street, officers located the victim identified as Brandon Tolson a 25-year-old New Haven resident. The victim was shot once in the back. Tolson sustained a life threatening injury and is in critical condition at an area hospital. The crime scene was located in the area of 437 Orchard Street. The Departmentís Investigative Services Unit is currently working on both cases. Anyone with information about either incident is encouraged to call 203-946-6304.
