    Fourth of July festivities

(6/27/2006) Hailed again as the “City of Summer,” New Haven continues its lineup of special events with its 4th of July fireworks show- an annual event not to be missed! “This celebration continues to represent New Haven at its best,” said Mayor John DeStefano, Jr. “It's what community is all about. I'm thrilled that our sponsors are helping us with this great event and ensuring that our families will be able to enjoy an incredible show.”

New Haven’s 2006 July 4th Celebration begins at 6:30pm on Tuesday, July 4, at Long Wharf Park.

This Independence Day celebration for the entire family begins at 6:30pm with food vendors and strolling entertainment. The evening concludes with a dazzling Pyrofx Fireworks production choreographed to patriotic music simulcast live on WYBC 1340 AM starting at approximately 9:15pm.

This year, attendees are encouraged to bring their radios to the park along with their family and friends. Children and adults alike will delight in the jugglers, clowns and magician on site. An assortment of food will be available from New Haven food vendors, and everyone is encouraged to come early to picnic and enjoy the harbor.

In case of rain, the fireworks will be rescheduled for Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at 9:15pm.
