MAYOR HARP COMPLETES TWO-DAY MEETING WITH U.S. CONFERENCE OF MAYORS IN NYC

(8/11/2014) Mayor Toni N. Harp today completed a series of meetings in New York City after which she joined more than 30 of her counterparts and signed a Commitment to Action on a broad range of common concerns. The conference was sponsored by the U.S. Conference of Mayors; the Commitment to Action is part of an initiative to identify and then address a national urban agenda.

“Most of the primary concerns of my administration are shared by mayors across the nation in cities large and small; this conference provided an effective clearinghouse for ideas engaged and experiences shared in these policy areas,” Mayor Harp said. “At the same time, I was encouraged to think how the cities represented at this conference might influence a series of national initiatives to meet the challenges we have in common.”
