    Office Of The Mayor

DESTEFANO APPOINTS MARIOTTI AS MAYORAL SPOKESPERSON

(1/7/2013) (New Haven, CT) - Mayor John DeStefano, Jr. has announced the appointment of Anna Mariotti as the City’s new Public Information Officer and Director of Communications. Mariotti will assume the role in the Mayor’s office effective January 7, 2013.

“Anna comes to us with excellent organization skills and a solid background in local government having served the City of Hartford so well in the past,” said Mayor John DeStefano. “As we move the city forward taking on new challenges in education, public safety and job creation, we need to recruit and attract the best and brightest amongst us to help get the job done,” said DeStefano.

Mariotti, a New Haven resident and president of the City Point Historic District Neighborhood Association, earned a bachelor of arts at Trinity College in 2005 while working in the office of the City Council of Hartford. There she built relationships with constituencies and served as liaison to the Office of the Mayor.

Mariotti brings with her skills learned while under the employment of non-profit organizations such as the United Way and HART (Hartford Areas Rally Together). Mariotti served as an organizer for the 2010 US Census count on college campuses and with hard-to-count constituencies all across the greater New Haven region.

“I love New Haven and I am very exciting for the opportunity to take the skills I have developed over years of work with local government and non-profits and bring those skills to service for the people of this city,” Said Mariotti.

In the position of PIO Mariotti will earn an annual salary of $68,000.
