PARKING BAN ANNOUNCED FOR DOWNTOWN NEW HAVEN
(12/14/2013) (New Haven, CT) Mayor John DeStefano, Jr. has declared a snow emergency in New Haven for snow removal purposes. A Parking Ban will be in effect for Downtown New Haven from 2am Sunday, December 15th until 7 am that same day.
Downtown parking will be prohibited on all streets within the area bounded by Howe Street, Tower Parkway, Grove Street, State Street, and North Frontage Road.
As a result of the parking ban, the Granite Square Garage at 690 State Street and the Temple Street Garage at 1 Temple Street will provide free overnight parking tonight, Saturday, December 14th beginning at 8pm and ending at 10am on Sunday, December 15th.
Please note that during snow emergencies, parking is prohibited on ALL posted snow routes within the City of New Haven, including within 25 feet of any intersection, fire hydrant or bus stop. Failure to comply with snow emergency parking restrictions may result in ticketing and towing.
Residents who have driveways are reminded to please park in their driveways to allow for plowing.
