    Office Of The Mayor
    Dear Friends

With the summer coming to a close, the fall begins and with it so does a new school year. We’re excited for the upcoming school year and for ensuring that New Haven students receive a superior education as work continue School Change.

When the school year starts there are many questions to be answered. What time is my child’s school bell? Is there an orientation that I can attend? To help families as much as possible, the New Haven Public School system has created a website where you can find answers to all of your back-to-school questions.

For school registration, here is what you need to know. For English, click here and for Spanish here.

For back-to-school orientation sessions, click here.

To view a district school calendar marked with vacation days and early release days, check out the 2013-2014 NHPS calendar here (you will also receive the printed version at orientation).

    For bell times, go here.

To view uniform requirements, click here.

We look forward to seeing students on the first day of school next Wednesday, August 28th!

    New Haven Open at Yale

The New Haven Open at Yale has already begun! Don’t miss your chance to catch some great tennis at the Connecticut Tennis Center. The tournament runs through August 24th with morning and evening sessions and it’s an opportunity to see some of the world’s best women players.

In addition to great tennis, there is a food court with an array of delicious options and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream carts located all over the New Haven Open at Yale. There's plenty of activities for children, including a fun zone.

Come out and enjoy a beautiful day of tennis and have a fun filled day for the whole family. For tickets and schedule, go here.
